Welcome Confirmation Class of 2018!
We invite you to register for our upcoming Confirmation Class for eighth graders graduating in 2018! Join us as we explore our faith, connecting our own experiences with the stories of our Presbyterian heritage.
What is Confirmation?
Confirmation is a time to discern what our faith means to us. In this class, you will dive into the Bible stories, Presbyterian Theology, and will be asked to creatively express your own feelings and beliefs around the gospel. Through this process, we will be working with mentors who will help us grow and articulate our beliefs each step of the way. Confirmation class is a time of self-discovery in the arms of God ending in an important decision made by the eighth-grader to be confirmed as a member of the Presbyterian Church or to continue discernment further.
We encourage you over the next two months to find a mentor of your choosing. A mentor is a responsible adult that you trust to be honest and open with you about faith. Mentors will be responsible for certain tasks and deadlines and must be able to drive. Your mentor does not need to be your same gender. They should not be a relative to you. A mentor is someone who will guide you through the more difficult portions of confirmation and someone who will continue to support you after your confirmation graduation. If you need help finding a mentor, please contact Rev. Béghin and we will take care of you. Once you have chosen a mentor please send their information to Rev. Béghin.
Class begins January 7th in Stanton Hall and Confirmation Sunday is June 10th. The class will be held every Sunday during Sunday School hour at 9:45 a.m. A more detailed calendar will be released the first day of confirmation class.
Please register by January 1st, 2018. You can register at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080b4ca9af2fa1fa7-confirmation
