Sunday School for Children

Classes are located on the 2nd floor except, for the nursery which is on the 1st floor

This fall, we are using Spark House curriculum for ages 2-years.old – 5th grade. The materials capture the imagination of our children with illustrated retellings of Bible stories, videos that blend humor with life application, engaging hands-on activities, and thought-provoking discussions.

Age 2: Room 212
Teachers Judy Miskimmin and Susan Bowman will introduce our 2-year-olds to Bible stories through play and teaching/mission activities. Even our smallest children are never too young to learn about their faith and make a big difference!

Ages 3-4: Room 214
Teachers Whitney Lee, Stacie Frischkorn, and Becky Johns will team up to teach our preschoolers as they learn Bible stories through thoughtful play.

Kindergarten-2nd Grade: Room 228
Teachers Rachel and Ryan Radspinner, Jamie Haley, and Brian Edwards and our awesome youth will explore the colorful Spark Story Bible and provide fun, faith-filled activities.

3rd-5th Grade: Room 215
Teachers Jeff Nelson. Amber and Daniel Keever, and Minor Medlin will work together to grow our late-elementary kids’ interest in their faith. At this age, they gain to take what they learn through hands-on activities and begin to connect biblical themes to their own lives.

Wonders of Worship

Wonders of Worship for children ages 4 yrs. – 5th grade is offered during the 11:00am worship services. Children are invited to attend the worship service and stay through the Spirit box, a children’s time with Pastor DeeDee. Afterwards, children are escorted to Room 215 for Godly Play, which helps them learn more about Scripture, the rhythms and traditions of the church, and more. Children are returned to their parents in the Sanctuary near the end of the worship service. At our 8:30am service, children are also welcomed forward for the Spirit Box, and then can either return to their seats or go to Children’s Choir practice from 9-9:30am with Ms. Bonnie.

Parents & Family

Church is a welcoming place for families to learn and grow together through faith enrichment ministries. Whether families worship on Sunday mornings or fellowship and learn through events like Advent Workshop or a talent show, a variety of ages coming together create that warm feeling called Church family.

Sunday School classes offer individuals Christian educational opportunities that appeal to children and youth in age-appropriate classes. Adults can choose traditional or discussion-oriented Bible studies or topical classes like Sacred Parenting for adults.

More than ever we also need your help. If you are interested in volunteering to help us with Sunday school for our children, please contact Rev. Dee Dee Carson at dcarson@firstpresvb.org.
