Are you worshipping with us for the first time?
We’re glad you’re interested in joining us! Our faith reminds us, “Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you…” Romans 15:7. At First Presbyterian Church of Virginia Beach we strive to make you and your family feel welcome as soon as you walk in the door.

Wonders of Worship for Children – WOW! This summer families will be participating in their children’s education about our worship service. Worship aids for the family to explore together during the service will be available in the narthex and in the pews so that the family unit can focus on worship together. The Word for Children will also focus on the “Whats” and “Whys” of the worship service. Following the Word for Children, all whose (ages 4 years through rising 3rd grade) who have come forward are invited to the “Wonders of Worship (WOW)” room (145) for re-enforcing worship activities and role play. They will return after the sermon to sit with their families for the offering, dedication, closing hymn, and benediction.
Childcare is available every Sunday for infants and toddlers (through age three) in our professionally-staffed nurseries.
11:15 a.m. THE POINT, held September through May, in the Chapel on 2nd and 3rd Sundays each month, is a contemporary worship service for our youth 3rd grade and up. This energetic contemporary youth worship service with cool music and interactive sermons will leave you ready to serve God, excited for the week ahead and looking forward to the next Sunday service that’s designed for you! THE POINT is held in the Chapel during the 11:00 service. Youth will exit the back of the sanctuary when the younger children proceed to the front for the Word for Children. Senior youth and adults welcome! For more information contact Jacqui Horton, Director of Christian Education, at email@example.com.
THE SACRAMENT OF HOLY COMMUNION – Holy Communion is one of two Christian sacraments, the other being baptism. As baptism is the sacrament that initiates the Christian journey of faith, communion sustains us in that journey. In our church, all Christians, whatever their church denomination are invited to participate. The Sacrament of Holy Communion will be offered at both services approximately once per month and most often on the first Sunday of each month.
Finally, should you have additional questions, please don’t hesitate to ask any of our members, an usher or greeter, or one of the pastors!
